(KNSI) – The suspect in the stabbing death of a woman inside an east St. Cloud apartment will be charged for two murders as the woman he killed was pregnant.
According to the criminal complaint, 26-year-old Saleeban Mohamed Abdirisaaq was waiting for police as they pulled up to the East Germain Court apartments at about 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday. He put his hands up and called out to them, saying, “It’s me. I’m right here.” Abdirisaaq had called dispatch minutes earlier to say a person was dead in the apartment, and he wanted to turn himself in. When police entered the unit, they found the body of Falus Ali near the living room couch. She had been stabbed 34 times. First responders could not save her, and she was rushed to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The entire incident was witnessed by Ali and Abdirisaaq’s three-year-old child. Staff at the hospital told police that Ali was 17 weeks pregnant. The baby did not survive the attack.
While police were still at the scene, Abdirisaaq’s brother called authorities in Minneapolis and said he got a call from his brother, who admitted what he did and that Ali had been granted a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order from Sherburne County against Abdirisaaq for prior violence. They discovered another restraining order against Abdirisaaq in Hennepin County for making threats towards Ali last September.
Abdirisaaq has been charged in Benton County with four counts of second degree murder, including killing someone while under a restraining order and the death of an unborn baby.
