(KNSI) – Off-duty officers foiled a string of suspected burglaries in Le Sauk Township early Wednesday.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says the officers called in suspicious activity at about 6:15 after pulling up alongside a vehicle with two men towing a utility wagon parked on a field road along Riverside Avenue. Deputies and the Sartell Police Department arrived, and investigators discovered that a pair of nearby buildings had been burglarized. In the wagon were several stolen items.
The men ran from the vehicle, but officers set up a perimeter, and, after an hours-long search, the suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Stearns County Jail. They are still awaiting their first court appearance.
