(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health recommends all school-age kids and their families get tested for COVID-19 every two weeks until the end of the school year.
Kids involved in any extracurricular activities or sports should get tested every week.
Officials say there is a sharp increase in school-related COVID cases because of a new variant that can potentially infect many students during an outbreak.
The MDH says getting tested regularly is the best way to know if you are healthy.
If you don’t have symptoms and have not been close to someone with COVID-19, you do not need to stay home while waiting for your test results.
Visit a community testing site, get tested through your regular health care provider, order an at-home test kit.
In the St. Cloud area, COVID testing is being done at the River’s Edge Convention Center.
