(KNSI) — A quick and coordinated response by the St. Cloud Fire Department kept an already dangerous situation from getting worse.

According to a critical incident report from the St. Cloud Fire Department, the call came in just before 7:45 Monday night for an RV that was on fire behind the Mobil Gas Station on the 300 block of 22nd Avenue North. Crews arrived to find the RV and a passenger car fully engulfed. They put the fire out, but the station did sustain minor damage. No one was hurt.

Deputy Chief Tony Lorenz: “Given the significant fire involvement and proximity to the gas station, we acknowledge that this situation had the potential to escalate further. However, thanks to the prompt response and the exceptional training of our crews, we were able to effectively minimize the damage.”

The exact cause is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
