(KNSI) – A former second grade teacher accused of sexual misconduct with his students has pleaded guilty just as his trial was set to start.
The criminal complaint filed in Swift County in 2022 says the now 61-year-old Roger Ebnet was seen on video recordings from November 30th and December 1st of that year inappropriately touching boys around seven or eight years old. He is also seen with the children seated between his legs over the course of the day.
In court, Ebnet admitted to the charges saying he did it for his own sexual gratification.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct. Five other charges were dismissed.
Ebnet is facing 25 years in prison. Sentencing has not been set.
