829 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Monday as Minnesota Nears Milestone of 2 Million Vaccine Doses Given

(KNSI) – The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 829 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Monday.

The newly reported death occurred in Ramsey County.

The five-county St. Cloud area sees 94 new cases: nine in Benton County, 11 in Morrison County, 28 in Sherburne County, 26 in Stearns County and 20 in Wright County.

Minnesota’s new cases make up 5 percent of the 16,417 COVID-19 tests processed by the state Sunday.

Meanwhile, more than 22 percent of Minnesotans have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. So far, more than 1,947,00 vaccine doses have been administered in Minnesota to 1,260,771 recipients.

In Stearns County, more than 80 percent of residents 65 and older are vaccinated, higher than the statewide average of 75.6 percent.
