(KNSI) – Foley High School is scheduled to play for a baseball state championship on Friday, but the forecast has that looking tenuous.

The Falcons were originally supposed to have first pitch against Rockford Monday at 1:00 p.m., the second game in a quadruple header at Target Field, but a wicked forecast moved everything back. The Twins tangled with the Rays for three games mid-week, making Friday the next possible date.

Thursday, officials gathered with another gloomy forecast in store. They opted to split the games between Friday and Saturday. The lower classes (A and AA) were left on the schedule to open. Parkers Prairie and Springfield are hoping to kick things off at noon. The Falcons would dig into the batters box roughly 45 minutes after the opener concludes.

Unfortunately, heavy rain is expected both Friday and Saturday. Clear skies are supposed to reign supreme on Sunday, though. Then, it becomes a question of which team can adjust to having more than a week off.

We’ll keep you in the loop for any updates.
