(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Fire Department has launched a new Scoops for Safety program.
The program rewards kids who make safety a priority. Firefighters will be on the lookout for kids practicing safe habits like wearing a helmet while cruising on their bikes, using crosswalks and checking for traffic before crossing the street.
When firefighters see a safety star, they hand the child a token for a free scoop of ice cream at Culver’s in St. Cloud.
The fire department hopes the program encourages kids to make safe choices.
