(KNSI) — There is an informational picket this afternoon after the Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty affiliated with Teamsters Local 320 voted 97.5% to authorize a strike following the breakdown of talks surrounding living wages and a request for an equity and compression study.
The informational picket by members of the ASF at St. Cloud State University starts at noon at the corner of 5th Avenue and Division Street.
Administrative and Service Faculty work in admissions, financial aid, housing, health services, mental health services, student registration, course scheduling, student activities, event planning, teaching, international student services, and more.
The two sides had been in union contract negotiations since April and entered state facilitated mediation on July 25th.
Move in day for new students is August 17th. The fall semester starts on August 21st.
