(KNSI) – St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis will introduce the first draft of the 2024 city budget at Monday’s council meeting.

It will be available for members and the public to review and make suggestions. The rest of August will see three meetings focusing on the financial plan. Sessions are scheduled for the 9th, 16th, and 21st, which will also have the second council meeting for the month.

The final version should be passed in the fall, either in November or early December. St. Cloud’s budget in 2023 is $82 million, representing a 4% increase from 2022.

The inflation rate has come down significantly in 2023 after averaging 6.5% a year ago. The budget will not cover an expected push for $100 million in bonding money to help with downtown revitalization efforts.
