(KNSI) — The Minnesota Senior Games are in St. Cloud starting August 3rd.
This year’s event will feature hundreds of athletes aged 50 and older from across Minnesota. They will compete in over 20 events, including track and field, swimming, cycling, table tennis and pickleball.
The annual multi-sport event is a chance for athletes to showcase their skills, compete against their peers, and enjoy the camaraderie of other athletes. The goal is to celebrate health, fitness, and the competitive spirit of older adults.
The games are open to the public and free to attend.
St. Cloud will also play host to the Minnesota Senior Games from August 15th through the 18th, 2024.
Visit St. Cloud Executive Director Rachel Thompson told KNSI News they’re excited about the announcement because hosting large events are always a boost to the city. “When you’ve got folks coming into town, they’re needing somewhere to stay, they’re needing a lot to eat, they’re needing things to do before and after the games.”
St. Cloud previously hosted the games in 2015, 2016 and 2019.
