(KNSI) — An arrest has been made in the case of a woman found dead on a road in Fort Ripley Township last month.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Tony James McClelland, the husband of Angela Marie McClelland, was taken into custody Monday night. Angela’s body was found on a road near Highway 371 in Fort Ripley on the morning of June 25th. Police say they believe the 49-year-old had been hit by a car.
Investigators from the sheriff’s department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Minnesota State Patrol have been working for the last two weeks to piece together the events leading up to the grim discovery.
McClelland was booked into the Crow Wing County Jail on suspicion of second degree murder and criminal vehicular homicide.
