(KNSI) – The Sauk River is below seven feet and expected to continue to recede over the coming week, which is good news for one Waite Park restaurant.
Anton’s posted photos to Facebook from inside its dining area and kitchen early Saturday, showing neat, swept floors that could soon host customers again. The parking lot and patio area were still waterlogged at the time.
The restaurant plans to reopen with dinner theater on Wednesday. It is the first of five scheduled performances of the show “Gotta Have a Plan.” The rest of the dates have been pushed back to early May. Two Wednesdays, the 3rd and 10th, and a pair of Thursdays, the 4th and 11th.
According to the National Weather Service, the last reading for the Sauk was Monday morning near Rivers Edge Park in St. Cloud. It was at 6.78 feet, which corresponds to minor flood stage. That’s down from 7.71 feet registered on the 19th.
For this Wednesday, doors open at Anton’s Restaurant about 4:30, followed by a meal and the play. Reserve a table by calling 320-253-3611.
