Stearns County Begins Work On Beaver Island Trail Extension

(KNSI) – Snowmobilers will need to make adjustments if they are trying to ride between St. Cloud and Clearwater for some late-season fun.

Stearns County Parks will be connecting the Beaver Island Trail between those two cities this summer, laying down four miles of paved path. It will run next to County Road 75.

In preparation, crews need to remove trees from the area and work will start on Thursday. It should be wrapped up by March 31st, but parts of the existing snowmobile trail will be closed while department personnel are in the area.

Signs will be posted, warning operators. The county asks that riders avoid using the closed sections.
