(KNSI) — The St. Cloud State University’s men’s Husky hockey team is now ranked number one in the nation in the latest college hockey polls.
The ranking comes from USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association and USCHO.com. The NCAA Power Ten rankings also have them at the top.
The Huskies swept Denver over the weekend 7-3 and 2-0 to win three in a row and 11 of their last 14 games to improve to 18-6-0. They’re also on top of the NCHC standings with 29 points. This is also their first number one ranking since the start of the 2021 season.
Next for the team is a two game series with the University of Minnesota Duluth on January 27th and 28th in Duluth. Those games can be heard on AM 1450/FM 99.3 KNSI.
Husky Forwards Jami Krannila, Grant Cruikshank, and defenseman Dylan Anhorn are all in the running for the NCAA Hobey Baker Award.
