(KNSI) — Drivers are starting the week with gas prices down just four cents from a week ago.
According to AAA, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.90. In St. Cloud, the average is $3.63, down from the $4.32 drivers were paying a month ago, but still 60 cents higher than a year ago.
“Falling pump prices may eventually lead to more drivers hitting the road again,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “But that hasn’t happened yet. Instead, many drivers are waiting for prices to fall further before reverting to their typical driving habits.”
In a recent survey, AAA found that 64% of U.S. adults changed their driving habits due to high gas prices. Twenty-three percent say they have made significant changes, including driving less, combining errands, and changing spending habits like shopping less and eating at home more.
