(KNSI) – The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota are once again looking to be the apple of every teacher’s eye by ensuring all students have the necessary supplies for back to school.
Senior Director of Communications Aimee Minnerath says every ‘Stuff The Bus’ donation is appreciated, but sometimes among the piles of glue sticks and colored pencils it is easy to forget about the needs of high school students.
“Scientific calculators…those are a supply that is in great need and harder to come by.”
Minnerath says it is easy and convenient to drop supplies off. The organization has a Spanier Bus located in the parking lot of the Crossroads Center Mall.
She asks, “When you do your school supply shopping, pick up some extra supplies for a kid in need. There are actually some steps leading up to a window. You can just drop them through the window of the bus and know that you have done your part to make sure that kids can be successful this school year.”
There are only a few days left for you to help. The drive ends on Monday. Supplies will then be moved to the three Girls and Boys Clubs of Central Minnesota locations, where they’re distributed to students in time for their first day. Catholic schools begin on August 30th. St. Cloud Area, Sartell, and Sauk Rapids-Rice all start on September 7th.
