(KNSI) – Beaver Island Brewing Company in St. Cloud has extended its comedy shows due to customer demand.

Beaver Island’s taproom is the home of Silly Beaver Comedy every Saturday from 9:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. The show features two to four comedians each week. Beaver Island Co-Founder Nick Barth says they started featuring stand-up in May, and the people started coming.

“We’re seeing this thing evolve. We’re seeing more and more guests come out each week and it’s been well attended. We’re just excited to share something different as far as regular comedy goes. It is the only regular professional comedy in central Minnesota.”

The comedians come from across Minnesota and the Midwest. He says the original plan was to run shows for about three months, but now there will be comedy at Beaver Island until the snow flies.

“We have extended it through the end of the year and we have some really great plans for New Year’s Eve. We’re going to do a couple of performances and really bring in some big guns. People love comedy. People love to laugh. This is great comedy, it’s affordable comedy and it’s local.”

Five comics will take the stage on Saturday, and next Saturday, August 6th, the taproom will welcome Minnesota native and nationally recognized comedian Mike Brody.

The cost for tickets is $15 and can be purchased at SillyBeaverComedy.com. Shows are for people 21 and older.
