(KNSI) — Three central Minnesota nonprofits are among nine organizations sharing $58,200 in grants from the Initiative Foundation.
The St. Cloud Area School District 742 Local Education and Activities Foundation is receiving $10,000 to improve communications, raise visibility, and connect with donors. The Ellison Center in St. Cloud is getting $5,000 for leadership succession, governance transition, and strategic planning. Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Centre is also receiving $5,000 to cover vehicle operating and maintenance expenses, which helps keep reliable transportation available for veterans.
The money comes from the foundation’s Emerging Needs and Nonprofit Capacity-Building grants. The funding helps organizations maintain essential services while investing in leadership, communications, and planning.
Initiative Foundation Vice President for Community Amy Trombley says nonprofits are constantly adapting to funding gaps, rising demand for services, and the need to build stronger organizations. She says the grants give them flexible support to address what matters most right now.
