(KNSI) — The suspect in a deadly road rage shooting on Easter Sunday is out of jail.

The Maple Grove Police Department says the 30-year-old turned himself in two days after the shooting, which started with a traffic altercation near St. Cloud. He was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County jail, but he was released without charges.

That driver and 61-year-old William Haire of Buffalo had several interactions between St. Cloud and the intersection of County Road 30 and Garland Avenue near Walmart, according to police. Witnesses said a person in one vehicle shot at another, and both cars left the scene.

After the shooting, police found Haire in his car off Interstate 94 and Maple Grove Parkway. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center, where he died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police say he is still a suspect.
