(KNSI) — A familiar name for St. Cloud State University Husky hockey fans is headed to the Minnesota Wild.
The team announced that forward Sam Hentges has inked a two-year entry-level contract with the Wild beginning with the upcoming season. Hentges represented Team USA at the Winter Olympics in Bejing earlier this year. He scored one goal in two games.
This past season, Hentges also scored 22 points with 61 shots in 20 games for SCSU. He also scored six power-play goals and three game-winning goals.
According to a press release from the Wild, Hentges was selected in the seventh round, 210th overall in the 2018 NHL draft.
