(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Police Department is holding its annual Community Policing Agreement meeting Thursday night.

The annual meeting is on May 12th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Cloud Police Department.

The policing agreement was signed between several community organizations and the department in 2005.  It covers fair and impartial policing practices and a process for filing a complaint. The agreement was born out of discussions addressing concerns over race relations and police-community relations following the findings of a 2003 Racial Profiling Report on the St. Cloud Police Department.

The report says drivers of color are more likely to be pulled over by the police in St. Cloud when compared to white drivers. The report said black motorists were more than four times as likely to be pulled over, and Latino drivers were pulled over at a 44% higher rate.
