(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department is holding a career fair on Saturday. The police department is looking to hire ten new officers and some part-time community service officers. The career fair is Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the St. Cloud Police Department.
According to the SCPD, four patrol officers are needed to fill new positions and six are needed to fill spots left vacant by retirements or officers leaving the force. Candidates must be patrol eligible by August 15th and have completed a two or four-year degree in law enforcement. Resumes will be accepted and interviews scheduled for a later date at the career fair.
According to the department, part-time non-sworn positions are great stepping stones to becoming officers while still in school or deciding on a career. There will be a chance to interview for a part-time community service post. The community service officers enforce parking in St. Cloud and work at the front desk.
The SCPD will also give tours of the police station.
