(KNSI) – A new bar is open in downtown St. Cloud. Stihl Wolf, at 515 West St. Germain Street, opened last week. The “pour only” bar doesn’t have any food service; however, co-owner Steve Sjelin says customers can bring food inside.

“We’re encouraging people to bring their own food so that we’re helping out all the other restaurants around this area. Kind of like a brewery type aspect. But then again, if they don’t want to leave their seat, they can order a whole pizza from us and then somebody from the crew will run it over.”

The industrial-themed bar is next to Polito’s Pizza. Customers will be able to order whole pizzas and eat them inside the bar. The bar is also co-owned by Polito’s owner Travis Schertz.

Initially, there would be a window in the wall the two businesses share to allow food to be passed between them; however, licensing issues made that impossible.

Sjelin says he started thinking about owning a bar while serving for four years in the Marines and being regulars at a bar.

“We enjoyed the environment that was there and you’re always going to have a dream. We got our own bartending kit that we would have in our barracks and we’d make drinks for our friends and sell them for $1. I mean, we were like, hey, why don’t we just do something with this.”

The bar is open at 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday with happy hour from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sjelin says the plan is to add pull tabs, live music and a dart league next month.
