(KNSI) – The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Saturday afternoon.
The watch includes Benton, Sherburne and Wright Counties and is in effect until 4:00 p.m.
Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across much of the area. The primary threat with these storms will be damaging winds, with large hail and a few tornadoes also possible. In addition, areas of heavy rain may lead to minor flooding.
Stearns, Meeker and Morrison Counties remain under a severe thunderstorm watch until at least noon.
