(KNSI) – A 22-year-old Watkins man is accused of sexually assaulting a former classmate Monday afternoon.

Court documents say the woman told police she was riding in a car with Fernando Camillo Andrews on the way to South Haven when he kept trying to kiss her and hold her hands. She said once in South Haven, Andrews parked the car on the side of a dirt road, pulled her shirt down, bit and touched her. She said he also put his hand down her pants.

The criminal complaint says the woman told police she kicked open the car door and tried to run, but she said Andrews ran after her and dragged her into the ditch, grabbed her, and laid on top of her. She said she tried to scream, but Andrews put his hand over her mouth and threatened to rape her if she tried to run away again.

She said she got back in the car, and Andrews drove toward St. Augusta, where he again parked and touched her while holding her arm down. Court records say he tried grabbing her again, but she ran to a nearby house for help, where they called the police at about 4:30.

Andrews is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Bail has not been set.
