(KNSI) – On Saturday, about 65 Minnesota National Guard soldiers will be landing at St. Cloud Airport after a nine-month overseas deployment.

Members of the Alexandria-based C Battery, 1st Battalion, 194th Field Artillery Regiment served in Afghanistan and Iraq and worked on a land-based weapons system that intercepted enemy rockets, mortars and artillery.

“I cannot thank the soldiers enough for their dedication and hard work throughout the deployment,” said Capt. Tom Bowers, C Battery Commander. “Their professionalism and stellar performance left a lasting mark on our counterparts at all locations and continued the exemplary legacy of the Red Bull Division.”

The Minnesota National Guard says the soldiers returning to the state Saturday come from more than 60 different communities.
