(KNSI) – During Wednesday night’s Summertime by George! performance, Coborn’s announced that the company is donating $1 million to construct the museum.
Emily Coborn, Coborn’s vice president of fresh merchandising, took the stage with the museum’s staff. Earlier in the evening, the company had given away 10 $10,000 gifts to other area organizations in honor of Coborn’s 100th anniversary.
“For those of you who may be unfamiliar, the Great River Children’s Museum will open downtown and serve all of Central Minnesota,” Coborn said to the crowd. “We are so fortunate to have a children’s museum that will serve our community in the near future.”
Liberty Bank has also donated $1.4 million to build the space, according to the museum’s website.
