(KNSI) – A huge haul of Halloween Candy may be a feast for the famished, but dental professionals caution against making it an all day binge.
Emma Fruchte, Dental Assistant with St. Cloud Family Dental, has tooth-friendly advice, saying, “Moderation is usually key. Eat it, then be done eating it. Don’t just eat it all day long and keep it on your teeth all day long. You eat it, you rinse your mouth out, you brush your teeth, and be done with it for a bit.” Fruchte says the toughest candy on teeth is those sweets that tend to be sticky and sour.
Cavity visits to the dentist tend to peak early in the year, after the candy-filled holidays.
