(KNSI) – Families can get some extra mileage out of this year’s Halloween costumes on Saturday at the St. Cloud Kids and Parents Expo.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the River’s Edge Convention Center. Trick-or-treating moves inside for the morning, with candy stops around the hall and a costume contest for the kids.

Beyond the candy, kids can paint pumpkins, make a Halloween craft to take home, build with blocks, color, play laser tag and burn off some energy in the bounce castles. There will also be face painting, balloon creations, airbrush tattoos and a photo booth for family costume pictures.

Stoney Brook Farms of Foley is sponsoring the pumpkin painting, and Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines is behind the make-and-take crafts. Local businesses and organizations will also be on hand with resources for parents.

Costumes are encouraged, but organizers ask families to keep them age-appropriate and not too scary, since plenty of young children attend.

Admission is $10 for adults, and kids 12 and under get in free. Parking is free on Saturdays, with ramps near the convention center.

Event details are available by clicking here.

The expo is put on by Leighton Events, which is part of Leighton Broadcasting, KNSI’s parent company.
