(KNSI) – A St. Cloud woman is facing a misdemeanor charge after police say she hid in an attic to avoid arrest on a felony warrant.
St. Cloud police were called to the 1000 block of 17th Avenue South around 5:30 on Tuesday morning for a report of possible gunshots. Officers made contact with an adult woman and three juvenile boys and spotted what appeared to be a handgun through a window. Police say there was a large law enforcement presence in the area during the call.
Officers identified the woman as 39-year-old Arlesia Shannell Robinson of St. Cloud, who had a felony warrant out of Sherburne County. According to police, Robinson was uncooperative with officers and resisted arrest. She was taken into custody after being found hiding in an attic.
Investigators later determined no one had been injured and that the gun seen through the window was a BB pistol.
Court records show Robinson was cited on one count of obstructing legal process, a misdemeanor. The St. Cloud City Attorney’s office is prosecuting. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
