(KNSI) – A Sauk Rapids senior living community that cares for residents with dementia is holding a garage sale this week to raise money for the fight against the disease.

Ridgeview Place Senior Living, an assisted living and memory care community, hosts the sale Friday, August 21st, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Great Hall at 1009 10th Avenue Northeast. Shoppers will find household items, home décor, and other secondhand finds. All proceeds go to St. Cloud’s 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Organizers say the day is also meant to bring neighbors together with residents and staff, giving the community a chance to mingle while browsing.

The St. Cloud walk is set for Saturday, October 3rd, at the Lake George Municipal Complex, 1101 7th Street South. The Alzheimer’s Association stages the event annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, making it the organization’s largest fundraiser for care, support, and research efforts. Registration is free and fundraising is encouraged.

The need is substantial in Minnesota. The Alzheimer’s Association estimates 101,900 people in the state are living with Alzheimer’s, and roughly 168,000 Minnesotans are providing unpaid care for someone with dementia, an estimated 231 million hours of it.

The association also operates a free helpline at 1-800-272-3900, staffed around the clock. Walk registration and donation information is available at alz.org.

Questions about Friday’s sale can go to Natalie Rudy, sales and marketing director at Ridgeview Place, at 320-250-2155 or Natalie.Rudy@accura.healthcare.
