(KNSI) – New books, new teachers, news friends and new anxieties can all be a part of a new school year.
With often a world of new things to figure out, Dr. Daniella Zsupan-Jerome with St. Johns University says one of the ways to help our young students deal with new challenges is to acknowledge increased responsibilities. She says, “making a plan or a roadmap can calm some of their fears and help little people take more responsibility for their learning.”
Experts also recommend gradually starting bedtime earlier the last couple weeks of summer vacation, too. For St. Cloud Area School District 742, the first day of school is Tuesday, September 1.
