(KNSI) – KNSI’s Meet Your Neighbor picnic series scheduled for Thursday, July 16th at Riverside Park in St. Cloud is being postponed.
Dense smoke from large wildfires burning in the Arrowhead has central Minnesota, including St. Cloud, in the maroon, or hazardous air quality, category. KNSI’s Bob Hughes says he “just can’t ask folks to bring themselves and their children outside and place them in a situation where they’re breathing in harmful air,” adding it was a “difficult decision that wasn’t taken lightly.”
A new date has not been announced.
The series will close out for the summer with a National Night Out event Tuesday, August 4th, at Eastman Park near Lake George.
The picnic series is sponsored by Hanson Paving, Bernick’s, Manea’s Meats and the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA.
