(KNSI) – A 29-year-old man died at the Pilgrim’s plant in Cold Spring early Thursday morning after becoming pinned beneath equipment.
According to the Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department, first responders were called for a medical emergency at the facility, located in the 800 block of Sauk River Road, at 1:15 a.m.
According to police, an employee at the plant had become pinned beneath equipment in the loading dock area. By the time officers arrived, coworkers had already removed him from under the equipment.
Emergency medical care was provided, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation. The man’s name wasn’t released.
