(KNSI) – All of central Minnesota is included in a flood watch overnight into Monday.
The National Weather Service is warning about slow-moving thunderstorms that could stall out over the region tonight. Estimates are for widespread rainfall of one to two inches. Localized amounts could reach up to four inches where the heaviest of rain rolls through.
Rains hit on Friday and Saturday night, which means the ground is already saturated. Streams and creeks will struggle to take much more before they spill over their banks. The flash flooding would most heavily impact low-lying areas.
