KNSI Parent Company Leighton Media Honored With the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves Patriot Award

(KNSI) — KNSI parent company Leighton Media has been recognized with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve’s Patriot Award for the outstanding backing of its employees serving overseas.

The award was presented to the company and CEO Bob Leighton on Tuesday. Human Resources Manager Brian Zenzen was deployed to Kuwait in early 2024 for a nine-month assignment. Zenzen told KNSI News he felt the company’s support from the moment he got the news. “I got late notification about this deployment. I found out a few months before I was going to leave, and I went and sat down with Bob, and there was never a question of what’s going to happen with my employment. It was, you tell us what you need from us, and we’ll make it happen.”

Zenzen maintained many of his duties working long distance as he fulfilled his role as a senior finance manager for Operation Spartan Shield.

He praised Leighton Media’s leadership for always stepping up. “From the time I started here, almost 10 years ago, I’ve been in the National Guard the whole time. And no matter what’s come up, specifically, Bob [Leighton] has never questioned, never wavered in his support for me serving in the military.”

In a nomination letter, Zenzen also highlighted the company’s role in helping his wife after a crash left her vehicle undrivable.

This is the third time the ESGR has presented the company with an award. In 2019, Leighton Media was also honored with the Patriot Award and, in 2021, was presented with the Above and Beyond Award for their support of working military members.
