(KNSI) – Two people were arrested after fleeing from police on a motorcycle and possession of drugs.
On Thursday afternoon, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office learned about a pursuit involving suspects headed that way from Willmar. Deputies were told that Willmar police had started a chase and then called off the pursuit; however, officers in unmarked patrol cars continued to follow the motorcycle.
A Meeker County Deputy intercepted the bike at the intersection of County Road 1 and County Road 28. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, at which point the driver fled again. The chase continued until the driver pulled over about a mile and a half west of Corvuso.
The driver, a 44-year-old from Willmar, was arrested for fleeing and driving on a revoked license. A passenger, identified as a 21-year-old woman also from Willmar, was arrested for 5th-degree possession and on an outstanding warrant.
Methamphetamine was allegedly located in the woman’s purse. Both were booked in the Meeker County jail and are awaiting a first court appearance.
