(KNSI) – City staff are trying to help after Wednesday’s severe thunderstorms packed a wallop across St. Cloud.

The compost site will be open early on Friday to allow residents to drop off branches and other yard waste that they have cleaned up in the wake of the heavy rain. Over a half-inch fell officially at the airport, plus some hail and gusts of up to 60 miles per hour.

Permits are required to dispose of items at the compost site. They can be purchased at city hall. Hours for the 14th begin at 8:00 a.m. Fridays typically operate from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
