(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Police Department says the teenager who claimed she was grabbed off the street and dragged to a park where she was forced to make sexual contact with two men say the teen was not forthcoming about what happened.
According to investigators, additional information, including statements given and physical evidence obtained, determined the 14-year-old “fabricated the information about the abduction. The parties involved knew each other prior to the date of the initial police report.”
Police are still doing follow-up work to determine if any crimes were committed.
On the evening of March 20th, officers responded to a call about a teenager who said she was assaulted after two men in a black SUV approached her while she was walking alone along University Drive Southeast. She says they spoke for a brief moment when they jumped out and forced her into the SUV. The suspects drove a short distance to George Friedrich Park in the 1900 Block of University Drive Southeast, where they dragged her out of the vehicle, walked into a secluded, wooded area and forced her to make sexual contact.
No weapons were seen during this incident.
A short time later, the victim was able to escape and call 911. She told officers she did not sustain any physical injuries in the incident.
Officers were unable to locate any suspects.
