81-Year-Old Minnesota Man Killed In Wright County Crash

(KNSI) – A Kenworth semi-truck crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado early Saturday, killing one person.

Both vehicles were going west on Interstate 94 in Silver Creek Township near Hasty when they collided just before 5:30. The tanker driver is from Spring Valley. He was not hurt.

The pickup was driven by 81-year-old Dennis Fred Wendell of North Oaks. A Current Incident Report from the Minnesota State Patrol says Wendell was not wearing his seatbelt when his truck was hit. He died at the scene.

CentraCare Ambulance, Clearwater Fire, North Air Care, and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
