(KNSI) — The lack of snow is forcing changes to the annual moonlight ski at Quarry Park.
The Friday, January 5th event is still happening, but instead of dashing through the snow on a freshly waxed pair of skis, you’ll need your boots as it’s now a moonlight hike. The event runs from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and is hosted in conjunction with the Stearns County Parks Department and the Nordic Ski Club of Central Minnesota.
The Stearns County Parks Department says parking will be free, with bonfires, s’mores, cookies, and drinks dotting the trails at the popular recreation spot. Door prizes, including annual parking permits, maple syrup, and gift cards from Fitzharris Ski and Sport and Revolution Cycle and Ski, will be handed out.
Quarry Park is located at 1802 County Road 137 in Waite Park.
