(KNSI) – The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says it interrupted a burglary in progress at a Dassel warehouse Tuesday night.

Deputies surrounded the building at about 9:20 and could hear someone moving inside. When they called out to the person, he did not respond. They searched the warehouse using a K-9 and found the person hiding inside, but again, he refused to obey commands.

The K-9 helped apprehend the 46-year-old suspect, who had to be treated for dog bites before being taken to the county jail. Also assisting in the arrest were the Litchfield Police Department and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

A press release says the incident may be related to other recent burglaries and arsons in the area. If you have any information, call 320-693-5400. The sheriff’s office asks that you request a detective to speak with on the matter.
