(KNSI) – The theme for this year’s Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota summer benefit concert cuts to the heart of the organization and music history.

Senior Director of Communications Aimee Minnerath explains. “When kids come to the club, they learn how to respect themselves, to respect others, to respect their peers, to respect the staff. That’s what we foster in all of the programs that we offer at the Boys and Girls Club. So we thought the theme respect would be perfect for this year’s summer benefit.”

Minnerath says the act will feature leading ladies of all musical stripes. The group’s youth dancers will also perform. Plus, there is a rolling buffet with 12 food vendors and more.

Tickets are still on sale. You can buy them here. They run $150 for a couple and $100 for a single person.

Minnerath says, “Our goal is to raise about $150,000 or more. Of course, we would love that to support all the programs that we offer to about 4,000 youth in our community. We serve youth from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade at our three clubs, and then we also have 12 different KIDSTOP sites, our school-based programs.”

The benefit is scheduled for Thursday at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud. It runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
