(KNSI) — St. Cloud State University has a new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Abbey Zink has spent over 12 years in leadership in higher education, serving as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Slippery Rock University and as Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Sam Houston State University. According to a press release, she is expected to advance the University’s It’s Time framework for the future of SCSU. The It’s Time strategic vision was launched in 2019 to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion for students.
“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Zink to SCSU! She is a forward thinking and proactive leader who is committed to building on our institutional strengths,” SCSU President Robbyn Wacker said. “She is a collaborative leader who is committed to, for example, our teacher-scholars, growing our nationally recognized programs, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion on our campus.”
She earned her doctorate in English at Northern Illinois University and her M.A. in English and B.A. in Journalism at Marshall University.
She begins in her new position on July 1st, 2023.
