(KNSI) – A nursing academy and home care company in St. Cloud will show off their new digs at a grand opening this week.
Comfort Keepers and the St. Cloud Scrubs Academy are moving to 3735 Roosevelt Road. General Manager Shannon Haws says to celebrate; the public is invited to an open house from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
“We’re going to have tours. A chance to meet some of the staff here. We have appetizers, live music and we’re just excited for people to come and see the beautiful building.”
The space is four times larger than their old location. Haws says increased demand for home health care in recent years has fueled their growth.
“The pandemic highlighted the idea that people can age safely in their homes. That there’s alternatives to nursing homes and that has brought about a greater need.”
Comfort Keepers has 120 workers who care for nearly 200 seniors and veterans.
Part of the building will be occupied by the Scrubs Academy, which trains certified nursing assistants. The program started in 2017 to try and address a nursing shortage. The program graduates around ten students a month.
