(KNSI) — The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to local students.

According to a statement in a press release from Greta Stark-Kraker, Executive Director of CMCF, “We are grateful to have donors in our region that truly see the value of supporting our area youth by helping provide scholarships. We know that by helping a student succeed in pursuing a higher education, we’ll see the benefits of that investment within our communities.”

Scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 school year are:

Alexis Zierden of Albany High School was awarded $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Aidan Kuhn of Apollo High School was awarded $450 from the Dick and Dorothy Putz Scholarship Fund
Samantha Lawson of Apollo High School was awarded $1,200 from the Paul Host Scholarship Fund
Allan Sana of Apollo High School was awarded $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Skylee Blomquist of Becker High School was awarded $2,000 from the Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Scholarship Fund
Meghan Corbett of Cathedral High School was awarded $2,000 from the Bernick Family Scholarship Fund
Eleanor Pelzel of Cathedral High School was awarded $1,000 from the Andy and Carol Hilger Pro-Life Scholarship Fund
Emma Eken of Eden Valley-Watkins High School was awarded $1,000 from the Christine Olivia Maul Memorial Fund
Brady Erpelding of Eden Valley-Watkins High School was awarded $150 from the Gaspar Family Scholarship Eden Valley Watkins Area and $500 from the Korman Eden Valley Watkins Area Foundation Fund
Shelby Geislinger of Eden Valley-Watkins High School was awarded $2,000 from the Wat-Kim-Valley VFW Post #5460 Scholarship Fund

These scholarships are part of the $355,500 in academic scholarships awarded for the 2022-2023 school year to 110 students from the upper Midwest. CommunityGiving administers 139 separate scholarship funds established by individuals, families and businesses to support area students in their educational pursuits.
