(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Downtown Council has been disbanded.
According to the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, the all-volunteer council decided its current structure wouldn’t be able to help the city reach its long-term goals to grow downtown. The group has been absorbed by the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce.
According to a press release, the chamber says it will provide much-needed administrative support, political advocacy, and a sustained structure that will help downtown attract private investment and development funding. The downtown council started conversations with St. Cloud and the chamber of commerce to explore a long-term partnership.
For businesses interested in hearing more or volunteering, an informational session will be held on Tuesday, September 20th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theater.
For questions or to RSVP for the informative session, email the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce at: jlunning@stcloudareachamber.com.
