(KNSI) — Following the City of St. Cloud, the Waite Park City Council approved placing two questions on the November ballot to collect a new half-cent sales tax.

The city says $7.5 million would be used for regional trail connections, and $20 million would be spent on a new public safety facility.

The current minimum combined sales tax rate value for Waite Park is 7.63%. That includes state, city, and county taxes.

On Monday, the St. Cloud City Council unanimously approved the wording on two questions on the November ballot asking voters to approve a half-cent sales tax to pay for $21.1 million in upgrades to the Municipal Athletic Complex. The other question asks to raise property taxes to raise $20 million to improve and develop trails, add new parkland, and improve existing parks.
