(KNSI) — The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a 31-year-old Dassel man Tuesday night after an hours-long standoff at his home.

A press release from the sheriff’s office says police went to the man’s house Monday evening after someone said Aaron Peterson was reportedly threatening to kill family members. They say they made contact with the man, but he refused to comply and would not come out of the house. A perimeter was set up, and negotiators worked with Peterson until they were able to take him into custody just before 10:00 p.m.

He was arrested on a warrant for felony terroristic threats.

The Kandi/Meeker SWAT team, the McLeod County SWAT team, Hutchinson Police Department, and the Wright County Sheriff’s Office all assisted at the scene.

No one was hurt.
